Buying Half/Whole/Quarter Animals  

Our Angus beef can be purchased in whole, half or quarter quantities.  If you choose to purchase a quarter you will receive what we call a "mixed quarter".  It will consist of cuts from both the front and the back of the animal. We charge you by "hanging weight". Average hanging weight is 850 lbs for a whole animal.  Price for beef is $3.00/lb.

We also sell hogs - whole and halves. Average hanging weight is 200 lbs for a whole animal. Price for pork is $2.50/lb.

Our ordering process

  • You call and let us know what you want and we give you a time estimate (when the animal will likely be butchered)

  • If you are satisfied with the time frame we add you to our list.

  • When the butcher date for your animal is scheduled, we will give you a call and confirm the phone number you would to be reached for cutting instructions.

  • The processor will call you to get cutting instructions and give you a pick up date. This year we are working with Stoddard’s Meat Market in Cottage Grove for processing. Their costs for processing can be located on their website or you can call them at 608-839-4228.

You pay the processor directly for the processing costs when you pick up the meat.  You pay Jelli's Market the above prices for hanging weight separately.
